The situation

Our clients work across businesses where information, communication and recurring operational tasks need to move quickly and consistently.

For the angel investor, one part of the workflow involved publishing short updates around the opening of the stock market. The process was straightforward, but it depended on someone being there at the right time to gather the relevant market information, turn it into a concise update and publish it.

The same pattern appeared elsewhere. Blog content required its own publishing process. Social content required another. Each task was relatively small, but together they created a collection of recurring jobs that depended on manual attention.

For the growing service business, the challenge was different but followed the same underlying pattern. Client information, communication and follow-ups needed to move between different parts of the team, making it increasingly difficult to keep the workflow organized.

The opportunity wasn't to make any one task dramatically more sophisticated. It was to remove the need to repeatedly perform the task at all.

What we built

We built a set of AI-powered workflows around information, publishing and client operations.

For the investment workflow, one system connected market information to the client's X account. When the market opened, the system retrieved relevant stock information, processed it and generated a concise post containing the relevant company and price information. We also built an automated blog publishing workflow and additional automation around his X/Twitter workflow.

For the service business, we built a custom CRM around the company's existing workflow. Rather than introducing another generic tool and asking the team to adapt its process around it, we mapped the existing workflow and built the system around the business. The CRM brought relevant client information and operational processes into one environment.

  1. Information enters
  2. Workflow progresses
  3. Team acts
  4. Client relationship continues

Information should move through the workflow automatically until human judgment is actually required.

03

The outcome

The clients' workflows no longer depended on manually checking information, initiating repetitive tasks or coordinating every individual process. Market information could trigger content. Content could move toward publication. Blog publishing could follow a defined workflow. Client information could move through a centralized operational system.

The result was not simply a collection of automations. It was a more autonomous operating layer around the businesses' digital and operational workflows.

The time previously spent initiating repetitive tasks could instead be spent on the decisions that actually required human attention.
